Thomas and the Cow

Sometimes Thomas has problems that aren't his own fault. The case of the local farmer's cow was one example. The farmer had to take his cow across the crossing at the end of the station,as cows can't go upstairs and over the footbridge like passengers do. Now this particular cow decided that it it rather liked standing on the crossing. Nobody knows why, but it stayed there, even though the farmer tried to move it.

Moo!

The Fat Controller remonstrates with the errant cow - to no avail. Thomas also tries to move it by blowing steam! (Diana Clementson)

Now having a cow standing on the crossing means that the trains can't run, and that isn't any good. The Fat Controller came to try to move the cow, but it just wouldn't budge. Fortunately Thomas was just around the corner, and he persuaded the cow to move along - by whistling and blowing steam at it! Eventually the cow decided that it didn't like being whistled at and having steam blown at it, and it grumpily moved out of the way.
