1960’s Weekend

1960’s Weekend

2nd & 3rd August 2025

Our much-loved 1960’s Weekend returns this August and what a way to celebrate both our 50th Anniversary and Rail 200, the 200th Anniversary of the birth of the modern railway.

Dig out your flares or mini-skirt and get ready to sample the atmosphere of the 1960s on a Welsh branch line.

We are recreating the British rail network as it was in the 1960s, with an intensive timetable operated by steam and diesel trains, and the scenic diesel railcar.

We will be holding a vintage vehicle rally, 1960’s re-enactments, heritage bus tours, exhibitions and stalls, Traction for a Tenner and a Real Ale Bar.

Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their best retro clothing and immerse themselves in the decade’s sights, sounds and ambience!

Numerous live singers will be performing at Llangollen Station throughout the weekend playing a wide range of hits.

At Llangollen Station on Saturday evening we are holding a Dance, where you can join us and dance the night away!  We will also have a Fish and Chip van on site where you can purchase delicious meals.  Tickets can be added to your Day Rover for an additional fee or purchased separately.

Refreshment facilities at Llangollen, Corwen and Glyndyfrdwy (including Porter’s Bar).

All timings are subject to alteration to coordinate with delayed trains or for other operational reasons.  All displays and attractions are subject to availability.

CLASSIC VEHICLE DISPLAY ENTRIES

There will be a vintage vehicle display at Glyndyfrdwy and vehicle bookings are open now.

If you wish to travel on the railway there will be a charge of £5 per person. Reduced price tickets are limited per vehicle. This will enable you to travel the full length of the line but at a greatly discounted cost from normal gala ticket prices.  £5 tickets are restricted to one for a motorbike, two for a car and three for a larger vehicle.

We have our own free bus and would welcome exhibitors to showcase their vintage bus.   We do not require it to offer any actual transport during the weekend.
