On the Day Fares – Terminus Stations
The below fares apply to tickets purchased on the day of travel for our Standard A and B Timetables only.
Online Fares
The below fares apply to tickets purchased on-line for our Standard A and B Timetables only.
All tickets purchased online are subject to a 6% booking fee, added at the checkout.

Fare Types
Tickets
Full Line Return Tickets: Valid for one return journey as specified on the day of issue only.
Single Tickets: Valid for one single journey as specified, on the day of issue only.
Day Rover Tickets: Valid for unlimited travel all day, on the date specified.
- On some Gala or Special Events, Day Rover tickets covering multiple days may be available for purchase.
Passenger Categories
Adult: Passengers aged 16 plus
Child: Passengers aged 3 –15 years old.
- Children aged 2 or under may travel free of charge, providing they sit on an accompanying adult’s lap and do not occupy a seat.
Additional Tickets
Dog Ticket: Valid for up to two dogs to travel throughout the journey.
- Dogs must be kept on a lead and on the floor under the table for the entire duration of travel.
- Assistance Dogs may travel free of charge with owner.
Bike Ticket: Valid for the transportation of one bike for the duration of travel.
Kayak Ticket: Valid for the transportation of one kayak (or paddleboard, canoe or similar) for the duration of travel.
- Bikes and Kayaks to be stored in the Guards Van for the duration of travel. As there is limited space available on each service, we ask that all items should be no longer than 9ft.
Special Events Tickets
Galas, Special Events, Evening Trains, and Private Charters: Timetables and ticket prices to be set and available to purchase online.
Gala Tickets will be available to book on the day.
Santa Special Tickets to be booked online or through the Llangollen Railway Office only. No on-the-day tickets available.
Online Ticket Sales
Online Ticket Types
- Day Return and Day Rover tickets covering Standard A and B Timetables will be available for passengers to purchase online in advance of day of travel. The timetables and fares for these will be set annually from January each year.
- Special Event and Gala tickets will be available to passengers to purchase in advance. The timetables and ticket fares of these will be set no less than 1 month in advance.

Restrictions to Online Sales:
- Online fares may be purchased in advance, via the website only.
- Online sales are currently only available for Full Line Return, Day Rover Tickets or Berwyn Shuttle ticket types. All other journeys and fares covering intermediate stops must be purchased at a Station Booking Office or directly from the Travelling Ticket Inspector (TTI).
- We are currently unable to apply any other concessions via the website, and any concessions offered can be made via the Stations Booking Offices’ or through the Admin Office, to our on-the-day prices only.
- A 6% booking fee applies to all tickets purchased online.
- Online ticket sales will close one hour prior to train departure.
Concessionary Tickets
We offer a number of concessions to passengers travelling with us.
Please note: Unless specified, all concessions are discretionary, non-transferable and to be applied to the relevant named card holders travel only – not across the party.
- Unless specified, all concessions are valid on Standard A and B Timetables only. This excludes Galas, Special Events, Evenings Events, Private Charters, Group Bookings and Santa Specials.
Carers
Passengers requiring a carer may admit one accompanying carer free of charge when they pay for a full price adult or child ticket.
- We ask that supporting documents evidencing the carer status are provided. This may include any of the following:
- Disability Living Allowance Letter
- PIP Letter
- Access Pass
- Hynt Card (Issued by National Arts Council of Wales)
- Any other appropriate supporting document as issued by your local council confirming carer status.
Please note that we are not able to accept a Blue Badge or Disabled Persons Railcard as they do not provide evidence for the requirement of assistance to access the community.
If a carer is unable to provide evidence of their status at the point of sale, they can instead retain their booking receipt and provide this to the Admin Office later, along with their documents. The Admin Office will then provide said carer with a full refund.

Travel Pass Arrangements
Heritage Railway Association (HRA) Privilege Pass
100% discount to one full-line return journey on Standard A and B Timetables with valid ID.
- Valid for free travel for two passengers on Standard A and B Timetables, not valid for use on Galas, Special Events, Evening Events, Private Charters, Group Bookings or Santa Specials.
- Passes are valid for one year only.
We do not accept Britrail Passes or BR PRIV Cards at Llangollen Railway.
