Are the Mince Pie Special services a steam-hauled service?
We aim to run Mince Pie Special services by steam where possible. However, sometimes our trusty locomotive needs a little rest. In such cases, a diesel engine may be used instead. We reserve the right to switch to diesel without prior notice if necessary for safety or technical reasons.
Are the Mince Pie Special services accessible?
Yes! Each service offers up to two wheelchair-friendly spaces, and both Llangollen and Corwen Stations are fully accessible. Ramps are available where needed.
Blue Badge holders may park at each station free of charge, subject to availability of spaces. These are issued on a first come, first serve basis.

Do infants travel for free?
Yes, infants aged 2 and under travel for free of charge. Please be aware that prams, baby carriers, and mobile seats are not allowed on the carriage due to limited space.
Where does the Mince Pie Special depart from?
Depending on your ticket choice, the journey begins at either Llangollen or Corwen Station.
No tickets will be issued for intermediate stations.
When should I arrive?
We suggest arriving at your departure Station at least 45 minutes before your scheduled departure time to allow extra time for parking and making your way to the station.
Where can we park for Llangollen Station?
Llangollen Station: There is no public parking at Llangollen Station. We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes before departure to allow extra time for parking elsewhere in the town and walking to the station. We suggest parking at the pay and display car park at Llangollen Pavilion Maes Parcio / Car Park. You can then walk along the road or canal to the station, which is a 10-minute walk. Can I bring my dog on the train?
Dogs are permitted on the Mince Pie Special. All dogs are required to travel seated on the floor, under the seat of the passenger they are accompanying.
Are there toilets on board?
Yes, there are toilet facilities available on the train.
What about dietary requirements?
Please let our catering team know about any dietary requirements at time of travel. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
